6 The (A)sword will whirl against [a]their cities,
And will demolish [b]their gate bars
And (B)consume them because of their (C)counsels.
7 So My people are bent on (D)turning from Me.
Though [c]they call [d]them to the One on high,
None at all exalts Him.

8 (E)How can I give you up, O Ephraim?
How can I surrender you, O Israel?
How can I [e]make you like (F)Admah?
How can I treat you like (G)Zeboiim?
My heart is turned over within Me,
[f]All My compassions are kindled.
